Why Intrigue?
Johnny Meier and David Aaron Stone have worked on and/or produced over 10 independent film projects. Most recently David and Johnny have completed their self –funded Premier Feature Film “They Know.” Through the self funding of Intrigue’s latest feature film and the experience of working and co-producing other projects, David and Johnny have gained a vast array of production knowledge including film financing, media distribution, and project planning. Furthermore, thanks to David and Johnny’s 'get it done' mentalities, the pair has developed the capability to walk a feature film project from concept to completion. On their last feature film, David and Johnny where able to produce, write, star in, and almost entirely self finance a full length super 16mm horror film for $300,000. This came on the eve of finishing their first “no budget” student film called “The Layover” and merely working as producers and actors on other smaller budget film projects. Quite a jump for the young film makers!
Moving forward David and Johnny have now streamlined the film making process, gaining skill sets in budget development, talent, script acquisition, exit strategies, post production supervision, and editing. Intrigue led by David and Johnny have access to some of Hollywood's finest crew, line producers, post production facilities, distributors, screenwriters, and publicists. Intrigue’s cinematographer Jayson Crothers has 17 credits on IMDB.com as well as graduated, with honors, from AFI (American Film Institute). As one of Intrigue's producers, Cynthia Graner has produced 9 credited films and is also a graduate of AFI. One of Intrigue’s screenwriters Andrew Quirk has placed and/or won numerous screenwriting contests throughout the country. Recently Intrigue has hired publicist Jennifer Lawton with Icon Public Relations whom represents highly publicized Brandon Davis.
David and Johnny intend to use their knowledge, skill sets, and vast networking stream to make another quantum leap as film producers by moving out of small budget Independent films and into multi-million dollar Hollywood productions.
